Currently, the patience of an average web page visitor does not exceed 10 seconds. If s/he encounters any problems, s/he leaves the page (and goes to your competitors).
If you care about how well your web page works, it is important to assure its easy and pleasant usability, which evokes the following in the internet user

- easy orientation within the page,
- easy achievement of goals,
- attractiveness, and
- easy commitment to memory.
Usability testing of the web is a relatively well-developed field at the present time. It has very practical consequences and is surprisingly effective economically. Usability testing should be applied both during the site design (test as early as possible) and after its introduction on the internet (all web pages are bound to have some problems over the course of time – what was good yesterday may no longer be good today!).
Synonyms of the concept “usability“ include user friendliness, utilization, service, wear, usage, consumption, application, usefulness, etc.
Through usability testing we determine how people use a certain object. The objective is to find an easier and more pleasant way of use. Even though this concept is most widely used within the field of web design and operating web pages, it is also possible to apply it in a wider psychological context – an easy reformulation will clarify that: through analysis of a partner relationship we learn, for example, how a person feels within this relationship, how it suits him/her; in other words, we test “the easy and pleasant use of the partner relationship” (it is certainly an unusual formation, but it expresses the essence). Among the foremost experts in this field, there are often attempts at defining usability testing in the most general terms.
